'Ore'some 99 Truck Order For Chile
Linde High Lift
Chile S.A. have recently completed the installation and commissioning
of an order for 99 forklift trucks supplied to Corporatión
del Cobre (CODELCO) the largest extractor of copper in the world.
The machinest
were provided through a rental agreement in co-operation with Rentaequipos
Leasing S.A. which also included on-site training for 20 mechanics
and 350 operators.
The mine, located
in the northern part of Chile, is within the desert of Atacama,
at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,800 metres above sea level and is exposed
to extreme temperature changes from plus 38ºC in the daytime
down to minus 15ºC at night.
The order comprised
of seventy-five machines 3 to 4.5 tonnes supplied from the Linde
plant in Aschaffenburg, and twenty-four machines 7 to 10 tonnes
from the Linde Heavy Truck plant in the UK.
The trucks are
working in the maintenance area and chemical extraction process,
they are also operating in the refinery, the raw material reception
and load area.
