Merits Meratus contract
Linde merits
Meratus contract.
Linde has recently
delivered two of their latest generation of reachstackers, launched
at the Hannover Fair, to PT Pelayaran Meratus (Meratus Lines) in
Indonesia.
An unusual
feature of the main Meratus terminal in Surabaya, where the machines
are operating, is the large amount of lengthways handling and stacking
of containers. To maximise storage capacity the machines are fitted
with a boom extension allowing 3 high lengthways stacking of 20
foot containers. The powered damping cylinders included in the specification
allow the drivers to lock onto the containers and hold them in a
horizontal position irrespective of the load distribution in the
containers allowing for rapid transfer from transport to stacks
and vice versa.
Harald Pernikar,
Managing Director of Linde's Subsidiary based in Singapore says
" We are very proud of the decision taken by Meratus who were not
only looking for the best equipment but also for a reliable long
term partner.
" Meratus Lines
was established in 1957 and to day operates 21 vessels providing
the most comprehensive interisland service, including freight forwarding
and stevedoring operations, throughout the vast Indonesian archipelago.
Meratus offers its customer fully containerised services whether
it is for general purpose, reefer or specialised equipment.
